PAYROLL GIVING

Within three months payroll giving will be a new option for donating in New Zealand.  The new payroll giving legislation will allow employees to donate to charity and receive their tax credit in the same transaction.  So the employee's pay is taxed after the donation is made.  All it needs is a willing employer, a charity with donee status and a potential donor.

If your organisation is keen to receive funds from employees, or if you want to establish your own payroll giving scheme for your organisation, please contact us for more information.

We can help with promotion of philanthropy to your staff, payroll giving strategy development, presentation skills, website content, branding, and more.

We can also help you to assess whether you are ready for fundraising with businesses, and if not, how you can progress your cause to find corporate support.

Our most recent edition of Fundraising New Zealand features an article about payroll giving in New Zealand.

Five Quick Questions to Assess Your Readiness for Payroll Giving

1) Do you have donee status with IRD?

2) Do you have a clearly articulated cause that is easily understood?

3) Do you have any corporate connections to get your brand in front of an employer?

4) Have you asked your own employees for support?

5) Do you have good systems and processes for accountability?

If you answer no to any of these questions, then you need our help in moving your payroll giving strategy to the next stage. Call us now 04 528 0742.
